As
usual mission life is crazy and busy and going by so quickly. I am sorry I don’t send messages every
week. We are teaching an awesome family
that we found while searching for another investigator… the member that was
with us told us not to talk to them, she knew them and told us Carlos is crazy-
he had a stroke and can’t walk very well.
So as we talked to Carlos and Maria he told us lots of missionaries had
talked to them and told them they would come share a message with them but none
of them ever showed up… but we did and are teaching them and the parents of
Carlos as well- his dad is in his 90’s.
Carlos told us there was something different about us compared to the
other churches they have looked in to.
None
of them can really read and they aren’t married since I guess it costs a lot to
get married. So when we taught the
lesson on chastity we challenged them to get married and they were thrilled
with the idea. They will get married on
May 8th with the help of the RS here since I have never planned a
wedding before. Then their baptism date
is set for May 14th.
They
attend church every week, ask great questions and have grown so much. You can never judge who is ready to change
and accept the truth. I am loving the
“never come to church alone” initiative they have here, so we are getting so
many opportunities to teach. My new
companion that I get to train is from Peru and her accent makes it a different
Spanish that some people can’t understand.
She is fresh with excitement for the work and awesome. We have a great time together. We are LOVING this work! I got to travel to the capital a couple times
this week and we are lacking in sleep as we spent a lot of time packing and
cleaning up from my last companion and it takes a lot of time to get up there.
We
got to make tortillas and it was a lot tougher than I thought it could be… but
then I watched her and tried to copy what she was doing and it went a lot
better for me. When I call for mother’s
day it will be 10 months for me and I can’t believe how fast that time has
gone. Happy birthday to everyone- you
know who you are- that has had a birthday!
I don’t have e-mail addresses but just know that I thought of you and
hope your day was great!!!
Love
you all,
Hermana
Morris
