We declare in words of solemnity that His priesthood and His Church have been restored upon the earth-- "built upon the foundation of... apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone" Ephesians 2:20- The living Christ-

As usual mission life is crazy and busy and going by so quickly.  I am sorry I don’t send messages every week.  We are teaching an awesome family that we found while searching for another investigator… the member that was with us told us not to talk to them, she knew them and told us Carlos is crazy- he had a stroke and can’t walk very well.  So as we talked to Carlos and Maria he told us lots of missionaries had talked to them and told them they would come share a message with them but none of them ever showed up… but we did and are teaching them and the parents of Carlos as well- his dad is in his 90’s.  Carlos told us there was something different about us compared to the other churches they have looked in to.
None of them can really read and they aren’t married since I guess it costs a lot to get married.  So when we taught the lesson on chastity we challenged them to get married and they were thrilled with the idea.  They will get married on May 8th with the help of the RS here since I have never planned a wedding before.  Then their baptism date is set for May 14th.
They attend church every week, ask great questions and have grown so much.  You can never judge who is ready to change and accept the truth.  I am loving the “never come to church alone” initiative they have here, so we are getting so many opportunities to teach.  My new companion that I get to train is from Peru and her accent makes it a different Spanish that some people can’t understand.  She is fresh with excitement for the work and awesome.  We have a great time together. We are  LOVING this work!  I got to travel to the capital a couple times this week and we are lacking in sleep as we spent a lot of time packing and cleaning up from my last companion and it takes a lot of time to get up there.
We got to make tortillas and it was a lot tougher than I thought it could be… but then I watched her and tried to copy what she was doing and it went a lot better for me.  When I call for mother’s day it will be 10 months for me and I can’t believe how fast that time has gone.  Happy birthday to everyone- you know who you are- that has had a birthday!  I don’t have e-mail addresses but just know that I thought of you and hope your day was great!!!
Love you all,

All things are possible if you only believe

We had a zone meeting that was so powerful... We were asked to think about what our dreams and goals for our mission were before we came out... are we that kind of missionary? ...and are we accomplishing the things we hoped we would?
We have found some really neat families we are working with and accidentally knocked on a Jose Smith's door instead of our investigator so we invited him to church and he actually came and enjoyed the fast and testimony meeting.  We have a "never come to church solo" initiative so it is great having the ward members bringing friends with them...
This week we have changes, and i am getting a brand new Hermana fresh out of the CCM! this should be interesting...being the one to supposedly know what we are to be doing!! aha!! well.. wish me luck!!
The gospel of Jesus Christ is amazing and i love seeing the changes it brings into peoples lives!  we are all moving every day so the question is which direction are we heading in? Are we coming closer to Christ or moving farther away from Him?
love you all!!!

What if... you woke up tomorrow with only the things you had thanked God for today.

Hey guys!! so i hope you all had such an awesome week!!! here we had 2 baptisms this last week, so that was super cool!! i love doing the Lord's work, and being involved in moving this great work forward! One thing that we have been focusing on as missionaries is change--if we aren't changing, we aren't getting any better, and therefore we are not progressing...the purpose for our life here is to change, and to become more like our Heavenly Father.  It is so important to accept this change, and let the lord change us, because he can make of us infinately more than we could ever make of ourselves!!! we must give our will to him... give it up... let him have your will, because only when you lose will you really win. If we lose ourselves to God he will create of us a masterpiece!!  i know that our Heavenly Father lives!! He loves us soooo much!! he wants us to be happy!!!! and the things that will bring us true happiness are following his teachings and commandments, those are the ONLY things that will last!! We must be focused on what really matters!! I know this church is true, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet, called of God to restore this great work!! i know that God loves me, he loves you, and he loves every child more than we can ever understand!! we must show our love to him by obeying him, and only then can he bless us with happiness!! i love you all soooo much and hope you make it a fantastic week!!!

Let’s be better today than we were yesterday, and better tomorrow than we were today!!

We went to a beautiful waterfall on p-day.  And made a lot of new contacts this past week.  Our zone made the goal of 2 baptisms per companionship, so we received a celebration meal with the mission president.  We got up about 4:20am to pick everyone up in our zone and get to the mission home… American food—YUMMY! I even had real milk to drink—so fun!
We had an excursion up the mountains where a lady lived and by the time we were heading home it was getting dark and that is kind of a scare time to be in the hills… but her big dogs walked in front of us like they were our guards and barked and made us fill so protected.
GC was so amazing…the best ever!  I came with questions in my mind and it felt like every talk was just for me!
Our new apostles were amazing and the story about the lost keys while skiing and how a car has no power or abilities without the keys—wow powerful, our church is the only one with Gods keys! LOVE that analogy!
“direction is so much more important than our speed”
There were lots of talks that brought in Lehi’s dream with the tree of life and the great and spacious building… this is the world we live in!
“Christ is always coming to our rescue” Uchtdorf
The more we listen to the HG the more He will direct our lives.
And Elder Hollands amazing wrap up of conference.  We didn’t get ice cream though.
“Your greatest work: your most important creation is and will ever be you. What kind of person will you become? By this I do not mean what role in life will you take. I don't mean will you be a cowboy, lawyer, surfer, homemaker, engineer, computer programmer, accountant or the like. I do not refer to what kind of car you will drive; what kind of clothes you will wear; what kind of house you will live in; what kind of spouse you will marry or what kind of family will you raise. I mean, when all of that is removed and there you stand alone, who will YOU be?
We plan many things in life. But, have you planned your greatest work? Have you envisioned who you will become? Do you plan for what kind of person you want to become? Can you see in your mind who you want to be? Do you know? Overall there is a choice between the qualities of light or the qualities of darkness: Choose the light!
"Our most fundamental doctrine includes the knowledge that we are children of a living God. When difficult things occur in our lives, what is our immediate response? Is it confusion or doubt or spiritual withdrawal? Or is our first response to remember who we are — that we are children of a loving God?" I Am a Child of God. But, the critical question is, Do we really know it? Do we know it in our mind and in our heart and in our soul? Is our heavenly parentage our first and most profound identity? This identity should supersede other worldly identities..." Elder Donald L. Hallstrom, April 2016
What did you learn and think of general conference!!  Listen, listen and listen again and again to these prophetic words that will change us and our lives!!!
I love you guys!!
Have a great week!!
