"You young people are being raised in enemy territory. We know from scripture that there was a war in heaven and lucifer rebelled and with his followers, 'was cast out into the earth' (Revelation 12:9) he is determined to disrupt our Heavenly Father's plan and seeks to control the minds and actions of all" BK Packer

WOW the days go by flying!!!! i can't believe it's another Monday!! We were able to see soooo many miracles this week, and i am reminded over and over again about how much this is the Lord's work, and not ours! our success is His success! and it all happens in His time! Thanks so much for the love and support! So a really cool experience that i had this week, we went on divisons with some sisters, and i was back with Hermana Mecham since she's back in our area again, and it was sooooo great!! She reminds me soooo much of how i was at the start of my mission-unreal!! so it shows me how far i have come, and how much i have learned!!! WOW!!! If we give ourselves up to God, if we let him mold us and shape us, he can turn us into something much greater than we could ever do with ourselves!!! i know this church is true!! i know this is the Lords work! i know he is at the helm, leading and guiding us safely home... "eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that LOVE Him." wow! i love that!
Hope you all have a great week!!

The Book of Mormon records the destruction of individuals and societies that embraced wickedness and allowed secret combinations to exist. The Book of Mormon also teaches that we can live righteously despite living in a wicked environment.

This week was GREAT… we’ve been working soooo hard with the members, and we have seen soo much success. I love Mixco sooo much!! The divisions have been crazy and make the time fly by even faster!! I don’t want the time to pass!! I can't believe it is already Monday again!! wow! How crazy time flies by!
So this week we were asked to speak in sacrament meeting, and we spoke on two talks given by president Uchtdorf about Alma and Amulek, and Elder Oaks about sharing the restored Gospel, and they are such great talks!! look them up and study them cause they are awesome!! My comp talked about the conversion of Alma, although he was one of the worst people in that time, going about destroying the church, he was reprimanded by an angel, called to repentance, and after he realized all of the bad he had done, and truly repented he became one of the most powerful and effective missionaries!!  Amulek was told by the spirit many times to go and preach, and didn’t take action until Alma found him, and they went about teaching repentance and baptizing in the name of Christ, and they didn’t become powerful teachers until they had their own conversion. We must be converted to be able to share the gospel!!! Elder Oaks said "the most significant evidence of our personal conversion, and the way that we feel about the gospel in our lives is the desire we have to share it with others”.
We shared the idea about a missionary week, where Monday is FHE, Tuesday is getting to know "john smith" (Joseph- everyone thinks his name is John down here) Wednesday is an open house, Thursday is meet the Mormons, Friday is sports night with the youth, Saturday a talent show, and Sunday is a special sacrament meeting!!
The second counselor spoke, and did such a great job tying it all in, and helping the members feel like they need to help us!  Members gave us references after, they are great, and everyone is super excited to help us out!! "Your faith will grow not by chance, but by choice!" we must choose to believe!! - "desire dictates our priorities, priorities shape our choices, and our choices determine our actions” the desires we act on determine our changing, achieving, and our becoming!"
I love you all tons! Thanks for your love and support!
Sorry i don’t have the time to write you all, my time is so limited.

"Do more than just believe in Jesus Christ and His mission. Work to learn of Him in the scriptures, come to know Him through prayer, and continually use His power to repent and improve." President Monson

Okay where has the time gone??? Sister Jocelyn Morris arrives home December 17, 2016 at 7:10pm on Delta Airlines.  We would of course love to have all of you join us in welcoming her home at the airport or the next morning Sunday December 18th at 9am for her HOMECOMING with food to follow at our home...2280 East Sunset Drive, Layton. We are planning breakfast casseroles, fruit (Josie's favorite) and muffins if you would like to bring food -that would be excellent and since you are receiving this e-mail you are all of her favorite people in the world and we hope you will plan to join us for this very fun occasion!  Any questions please call or text penny 801 513-4965 or Steve who is better at answering- 801 513-4933.
WOW!!! this week was just the best!!!! So many miracles, and we are working sooo hard!!! Hermana Cardenas is sooooo dang awesome, and we have really been blessed!! We have been having divisions with the sisters, and the time just flies by as we are trying to teach and help them, find new investigators, and get them to church, and all the other crazy stuff we are doing!!! man!! where does time go!?! So we have had such powerful experiences with some investigators that we found this last week, and as we ask them to give the closing prayer, and we do so on our knees, the spirit just floods the room and we are all filled with the spirit!!! In some of the closing prayers that our investigators offered, they said, "thank you for sending these angels to teach us the truth, or please help me to know if the message they shared with me is true, or help me to know how i can change and be baptized on this date, or thanks for the sisters who brought us the truth!! amazing!! i love them!
Christ really has his chosen people, and they are soooo prepared to listen to us when we come knocking!! Another miracle we saw was when we were knocking doors, it was getting close to 6pm, and we only had time to knock on one more door, and we were staring down this street, and wondering what one we should knock, and my comp says to me just listen to the spirit, what does the spirit tell you!? I was looking over the houses, and a lime green car (cause i love green) caught my eye, and the spirit told me, "there" but then i was like, no... it’s just cause i like the car, and its  a dumb reason... but then i heard the prompting again, knock there.  So we headed over and knocked on this man’s door, and he said, sure, come on in- found out that he is a less active member, and has not been coming to church for like 2 years, and his mom isn’t a member, but they lost their son -grandson like 6 months ago due to an illness, and he was just sooooo sad and lost, and he was really desiring for someone to come and help him, and we knocked on his door- super duper awesome!! The lord blesses us when we follow his promptings, he is real, he loves us all, he wants us to be happy, we have to be perfectly obedient!!! I know my savior lives- he loves me, and each one of you, and desires that we do what is necessary to make it back to his presence!!!
Follow the promptings of the spirit and have a great week!!!!!

Love you all!! Hermana Morris

God doesn't give us what we can handle, He helps us with what we are given!

This was the craziest week ever... misisonary work is sooo fun, and we have had a blast here in Mixco!! Do you remember the story from president Uchtdorf about fourth floor last door?  Well we had an experience like that, we were in a colony that was only stairs, stairs, and more stairs.  So as we were working our way down, we kept knocking and no one was opening, so when we reached the bottom, and turned the corner, there was one last door, and when we knocked, this lady opened and let us in, and she is sooo pilas!! Awesome... and we saw lots of miracles!
Hermana Cardenas is the best and i feel like i've known her my whole life!! i love love love love missionary work-I know that it is the work of God! He prepares the hearts of His children.  It's just our job to help them come to church!! This work is the best in the world!! thanks for all your love and support!! sorry its short!! never enough time... have a great week!

"Anything that opposes Christ or His doctrine will disrupt our joy." Russell M Nelson

I’m in the third area of my mission, and since i have 2 changes here which is when everyone usually leaves this area, i said goodbye to everyone! the members, bishop, and recent converts, and our investigators, and started packing!! wow!! i have a lot of stuff!! so i packed up, and was finishing up last night at about 11:30 when the elders called us to tell us the changes- i am staying here as sister leader, and my comp goes -she doesn’t have anything packed, and this is her first change here, and she goes home in 6 weeks, so everyone thought she was going to finish here, and we’ll see if i end my mission here.
I had divisions with Hermana Mcbee, and a lizard was in the house and i was like no problem, we'll just guide it out with the broom, well turns out it ran into the curtains, and sister Mcbee started screaming, and i was dying and we were trying to get it out of the house, and after like 30 minutes of chasing it around the room, and throwing around beds, and our desks and things, we got locked out of the house trying to take it out!! and we didn’t have the phone or keys -then after the whole incident, i told Hermana Mcbee the last time one was in the house i just picked it up and took it outside, and she freaked out and was like, "why didn’t you just do that an hour ago?”
So we had mission counsel on Friday, and it was super awesome!! and we talked about the importance of being one with God, and then that led into an incredibly short weekend of General conference!! i was sad when it was over, it was SOOOOO amazing!! i love our leaders, and i testify that they are called of God!!! they answered many of my questions!! i testify that this church is true, and add my testimony to that of president Monson that this is the great plan of happiness!!! we can find it in no other place!! "where else could we go!?" it is true!! i love this church!! i love being a missionary!!
So i will get a north American companion from Utah- Hermana Cardenas!! i hope that we can all continue studying and learning from our great leaders!! read their talks, study them, learn from then, and then PRACTIQUELO!!!! (DO IT!!)
i love you all so much, and want to thank you all for the love and support!! you are the best!! love ya!!
