"The best and most wonderful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched --they must be felt with the heart!" Helen Keller

HEY my peeps!! What’s crackalakin!!? wow!!!! so sorry i didn’t write last week but things were crazy!!! We barely had any time to write!!! okay.... so last Tuesday was changes, and my trainer left me… which was actually really sad and i was sooo nervous for my next companion.... then bam!! New companion arrives and i was stoked to get going!! So the first day was a little hard, trying to talk to her in my broken Spanish, and her not wanting to talk much…rough… then the next morning she didn’t get out of bed until waaaayy late, and from there it just went down hill... and she complained the whole week that we weren’t getting anything done, yet, she wasn’t willing to do anything, and it was the most stressful thing.  ahh!! i was ready to die!!! I talked to the zone leaders, and wrote the president asking how i could help motivate her, and then bam!! 7:30 Tuesday morning (this last week) the AP's called and said "you're having emergency transfers, and your taxi's coming at 10:00 so pack up!” What the flip!? so I woke up my comp, and she didn’t believe me, and called them back and affirmed what i had said, and for 3 hours i was running around the house throwing my crap everywhere, and wondering where i had gotten all of this stuff—you sure collect a lot of stuff! So i had a huge pile of luggage, and the lady that owned the house was having a bird and i didn’t know what was going on cause the APs only told me to pack.
Everyone was asking me all of these questions in Spanish that i couldn’t answer, and i was freaking out, and didn’t get to say goodbye to any of the people in my first area, and was super sad... and wow!!! so finally 10:00 came, and i said bye to my new comp, not too sad to see her go though, and she headed off to the office while i moved to Centeral America!!! with Hermana Lopez from California and Hermana Medrano from Honduras! I got there, unloaded my stuff, and brought it into the house, but i was crying and laughing and emotional and it was probably worse than my concussion, which is saying something.. I’ve become really emotional on the mission, and not being able to understand tons of people doesn’t really help!! So yeah, Hermana Colon was only my comp for one week, they showed up with a bed for me, and we had to shove their beds aside to fit it in the room, and then me and Hermana Lopez were setting it up, and heard Hermana Medrano moving around in the other room, and went to find her moving this huge closet, and we were like...ummm what ya doin?! well she was trying to move it into the bedroom so it would be more convenient for me, but we asked her "TO what SPACE!?! " haha!! it was great!!!
President called later that day, and thanked me for my patience with my other comp, and said that he had given her a warning, but she didn’t change, so she went home, and he asked me if i had brought enough stuff for the next 3 weeks till changes again (changes are the 8th of Dec because of Christmas and the new year and everything) and i told him i had just brought everything, and he was like wait, the AP’s didn’t tell you to just pack enough for these next weeks!? Well they didn’t, so i brought it ALL!!
So this week was just fun!! i had a bucket to sit on for a week, but finally a chair and desk arrived, the week flew by laughing, and crying, and teaching and everything!!  Friday we had splits with Hermana Hirschi so me and Hermana Lopez (from Cali with 2 months in the mission) stayed in the area with her while Hermana Medrano left. We quoted Disney all day and sang, and found toooons of people, and we were in such good moods that everyone let us in and wanted to hear the message we had to share, it was just sooo awesome!! You could feel the spirit sooo strong in every lesson, and it was the best!!!!  So we were trying to teach my new comp English, and me and Hermana Lopez Spanish, i flippin love my temporary comps!!! Best week ever!!! and totally what i needed after the week prior!!!
Found a gecko Friday and caught it, and trying to take pictures, so there we are at night in the middle of the street taking pictures with no one around. Hermana Hirschi said, uh,.. we aren’t supposed to look like tourists?!
So we also had a lesson where we talked about enduring to the end and applied it to soccer- (most everyone here loves soccer) and it was awesome.  And everyone here loves that a white girl can play soccer, so that’s pretty chill as well... we'll see people playing in the streets, and I tell them to pass it to me, and do a move or two, and then ask if we can talk to them, and they are like heck yes, so we give them a lesson, and promise to play when we come back, and its gotten us a ton of new investigators!! My Spanish is still coming along... i can at least speak!! But i know the Lord has his timing, so I’m just trying to be patient!! So yeah, best week of my life so far!!
Funny stories of the week, Hermana Lopez and i were contacting, while Hermana Medrano would switch back and forth following us, and helping with our Spanish after finishing contacting, Hermana Lopez was looking around for us and couldn’t find us, and the lady she had been talking to was like, are you alone, and hermana L was like well no, and then the lady pointed to me and was like, you’re canchita (white girl) is over there—and Hermana L was like oh, gracias!! At another investigators house, we were talking to the little boy outside, and he was telling Hermana L about his chickens, and their rooster and then out of nowhere he was like "vamos a martar el gallo poraue la canchita puede comer" which means we’re going to kill the rooster so that the white girl can eat, and then he invited me to his birthday party where they’re going to kill it, then afterwards was like, oh, you can come too, to Hermana Lopez! So funny!!! White girls aren’t very common around here…
Hope you all have a great week!!
Love you all— send me letters!!!!!

"Nothing is more crucial to your eternal life than your conversion." President Russell M. Nelson

Bishop with the tie i bought him...
Sorry this week is short again, but wow!! i'm done with my training as of tomorrow! how did that happen... So I'm getting a new comp in this area, and we'll see how that goes since I'm supposed to be the one knowing what's going on! This week was awesome and the people here are great!  Funny story- so this week we were talking with one of our investigators, and she said that we have a really pretty chapel over in zone 15. yep.. .that's the temple, so we were like, yeah its pretty!! Then she said,  "I just love the inside...and we were all.. um... you can't go inside... turns out, she's been inside.. she showed up for a wedding, and with the huge group of people entering, they didn't ask her for a temple recomend cause she didn't know that she needed one, and hence kinda just walked by everyone without them asking, and was in an all white dress so didn't need to change or anything, went to the sealing, and then outside she had some of the people ask her how she had gotten in, and she said that she just walked right on in, and they didnt stop her...sooo funny!! so technically she's already gone to the temple, so all we need to do is baptize her!! I know this church is true!! It's a great blessing for my life, and all the people we are teaching!! every member a missionary!! love you all -- hope life is fantastic!!!
Love,
Hermana Josie Morris

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" Philippians 4:13

Sorry the email is short this week!! i ran out of time, again.. Just want you all to know that life is great!!  Lots of crazy things happening in Guatemala, but luckily the Lord protects his servants!! yay!! so yeah, lots of cool experiences, but I’ll probably write a letter home with it since i have more time later today, so hope you all have a fantastic week and know that i love you!!  One cool experience this week... so our mission president said in his email, how would you work today if you knew you were preparing for the second coming tomorrow!?   Something to think about and motivate us in our missionary work… are we doing enough!?  Are we dedicating ourselves to God, and when we think of the story with John and the Savior—when Christ asks three times do you love me? —then feed my sheep. Are we going to be able to say on judgment day that we love him!? That we gave our all to feed his sheep, even if it’s just that one we bring back into the fold!?  So go feed his sheep!!
Love, Hermana Morris- don’t forget to write me letters!! love ya!!
Con Amor,

Hermana Morris #3
