I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Phillipians 4:13

Very crazy, busy week again for us as 2 sisters came to stay with us because they had someone breaking into their place and called the zone leaders who scared them off and then drove the sisters here around 10:30 pm which was way late for all of us missionaries.  They were upset so we didn’t get much sleep, but it will be a story to tell later.  We did splits with them as they weren’t to return to their area and then changes are now going to take them to the capital as 4 of our missionaries are taken out of our area, because they are downsizing with so many going home.   Lots of changes is a guarantee on a mission.  Our zone once again won the breakfast at the mission home with our mission president and wife :-D  which is always fun!
That is all for this week!

Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God’s love encompasses us completely… He Loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken. ~Dieter F. Utchdorf

We had fun again last p-day playing soccer… only my Peru companion doesn’t like to play?  Isn’t it in her blood??? We ate little Caesars pizza..  AP’s called and told us we had a presentation to give so we started looking in our apartment for ideas and found a video about serving the Lord today and being a faithful missionary and it helped us prepare.  Missionary work requires more than the missionaries though, we all need to pray and study scriptures daily and share this wonderful gospel with everyone!
Interviews with President Caffaro were wonderful He is the best and so is his wife.  There are 43 sister missionaries in my mission and only 12 of us are American and about 6 already knew Spanish, so I am one of the few who has struggled to speak, President told me my Spanish was really bad in the beginning, but now I sound pretty fluent so that is good.  Yes I know I was awful in the beginning!  One of my favorite quotes from Elder Holland that has kept me going on my mission… “Don't you quit. You keep walking, you keep trying, and there is help and happiness ahead. Some blessings come soon. Some come late. Some don't come until heaven. But for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come. It will be all right in the end. Trust God and believe in Good Things to Come.”  I have learned so much and come so far here in Guatemala.  I love the people! I love the work!  And I love my mission president and his wife.  And I love my companions!  I feel so grateful for the faithful heritage I am blessed with, so many missionaries out here don’t have so much support or families that are faithful!  I feel so blessed!!!
When sister Caffaro was here she had some toys she wanted to take to the school where we pulled all of their teeth.  But it was closed and we stopped at some of the hotels that our bishop owns and he has church books all over in them :-D
We had our four baptisms on Sunday Gregorio is 95 and in a wheel chair, his wife Maria is 79 her son Carlos is 57 and his wife Maria is 55.  Satan worked on them hard to keep them out of the water but they all made it with priesthood blessings!  The ward members supported them well and even though the water in the font was cold, they said they didn’t feel it since they felt so warm inside!  Gregorio was the happiest man ever!! it was the cutest thing ever to baptize him, and afterwards, he just kept telling us how happy he felt, and how warm he was inside, saying it went all the way down to his toes.
At church there were like 7 investigators that we were trying to meet and get information from and there was a family with 2 kids from Utah that he had served here like 40+ years ago, so he couldn’t really speak well anymore and no one knew him… so it was another wonderful, and busy Sabbath for us.!!
The Lords hand is in everything if we can just notice… This is His work and I LOVE it!  I know that this church is true! Without a doubt, it is the kingdom of God, restored upon the earth and I know that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet of God, called to this great work! I know that if we strive our hardest to do our best, and continue to progress, we will have life eternal in the presence of God! I love this church!! The commandments are sooo important!! I love you all tons!! #Families are forever!!!!

" then whatsoever you desire of me (in) righteousness... you shall receive. Elder Holland- tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you- D&C 11

Carlos and Maria came to church 5 weeks in a row, Maria has drunk coffee her whole life so that was tough for her to quit, she was worried about headaches, but when she found out she couldn’t get baptized then she was willing to give it up.   We had their wedding yesterday.   We found a lawyer that was willing to help with paperwork etc. for free since she has a daughter that is a member.  She does whatever she can to help out the missionaries!  But she showed up really late which really stressed us and sent us in to panic mode!  Also Gregerous -Carlos’ dad was also married at this time and he was thrilled since he was raised catholic and knew living together was wrong.
Odelia shared a very strong testimony with us … but her mom is so against the Mormons, so she hasn’t told her she married a Mormon and got baptized.  We found a cousin of hers and have been teaching her and then found out they are related.  Found a couple other friends that loved our message, but their mom wouldn’t let them come to church.  So many prejudices and of course other churches teach them that if you leave (no more money for them) they will be struck dead.
There are hundreds of less active people we run into that were baptized but not converted… I think they join to get help, but then aren’t active for very long.
We also had 17 investigators come to church and have a focus of finding families from out mission president, so we have been working hard on that as well.
Eddie and Rublia have 3 children and as we have had contact with them, we have helped the kids with their homework.   Their one son is in a wheelchair, but getting him out is tough since they don’t have smooth sidewalks or roads etc… but a friend gave him a book of Mormon a while ago and he has been reading it… that doesn’t happen often since a lot can’t read!  He wants to know more about it and that has been super awesome!
Been playing some great soccer here – some of these other missionaries are amazing players!  One elder was a volleyball player, but he makes a great goalie!  It is now getting harder for me to communicate in English… so that is great I guess!
The church is TRUE… I love it and see the difference it makes in this world!  I feel so sorry for so many people here that don’t have it in their lives.   The gospel makes such a big difference in peoples lives… if they could just understand that, I know more people would join and love this true church and what it does for them.
I love you all
Have a great week
