"It's not about what it is but what it can become!" Dr. Suess

Wow what a fun week—so now sister morris #2 is home! pictures were great and it looks like you guys had so much fun, how great!!! So Guatemala is as crazy as ever—supposedly the rainy season ends by September, but it has still been pouring here, and one of the days, we looked outside and it was as clear as could be, so obviously we left all of our umbrellas and water things at home, and headed out and it poured!!  We got sooo soaked…funny!!  I won’t make that mistake again, of course it was the first time that i have ever not taken my umbrella.  So this week we were going to do a companionship study with the Hermana leaders, so we head to the church, and they had been on divisions the day before with the Central American sisters, so the one group of sisters showed up early and entered the church and sat down to wait, only, the people in the church didn’t know they were in there, and left and locked the gate, so they couldn’t get out, they were locked in! I was excited to see them try and hop the fence since the elders told us about one time they got locked in and had to do that, and another time when it was sisters, and their phone died, they tried to flag down people for help- funny!! The guy that normally has the keys wasn’t home, so we didn’t know who to call, and eventually he showed up and let us in, they didn’t have to jump the fence which i was a little bummed about but it was hilarious!!!
This week we got 5 investigators to church, a family and two teenagers, and it was soo great!!! i love church and the chance to renew our covenants with God every single week!!  The people here are soo crazy for not having bubbles so they just hug me and never let go!! What the pansies!!! Yesterday at family night, they had their usual tostado, (like a big chip for chips and salsa) and beans with cheese, and i flippin hate those... and they are convinced I’m gonna eat beans for the rest of my life when i get home, so they cheered me on and i finished it and they all applauded!! funny!!! my comp who is from Nicaragua said that they are better there and started explaining all the crazy, and quite frankly gross things they put on them, and then i told them that they were better in Utah,..with just the chip and sometimes salsa!! They found that way funny!! But the people here are so great, and i just love teaching them and finding new people!  Mission life is great!! thanks for all the love and support!!! Who has been ponderizing!?  can i just say that ponderizing is soo great!!!?  It is honestly so awesome to put our thoughts in higher places and to always try to memorize and think about inspiring words of the scriptures!!  So October 5th my scripture was Romans 5: 2-5, 12th was D&C 121: 41-42, and then this last week i had Alma 26:12 and those scriptures are soo great!!! so i would suggest looking them up and maybe using them for your ponderize scripture!! love ya!!!

It matters not so much where you are in life, just the direction you are facing that's important!

Hola!! so sorry this is short, but once again i ran out of time!  Ii hope you are all having a fantastic time!! wow!! so it rains like pansies here and I've been keeping my eye out for Noah, in case we have another flood and i need to load onto the boat-cause it floods!! Something that i really learned this week is the importance of scripture study every single day!!! if we have a crazy day, and dont make time for studying, the day is always a billion times harder, and if i am struggling, and need to just talk to someone, i offer a prayer, and read the scriptures, and always find an answer to my prayers!!! its soo important to read scriptures!! love you all and hope all is well... also... WELCOME HOME LEXIE!! how fun!! take a billion pictures and send them all to me!! i love you all!!! imagine an airhug!! yep... i hug these days... its weird!! haha!! love you!!

"You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose." Dr. Suess

Hello family and friends!! This week in guatemala was so crazy!! As I’m sure a lot of you have heard, or maybe not... there was a huge mud slide here from all the rain, and it took out 200 houses and about 600 people or so they are estimating, they are digging through the mud to find all of the bodies which is super sad!! it’s crazy how just like that, life can be over, they had no clue- so how important is it to be ready!? We don´t know when our time will come, that is up to our Heavenly Father. but isn’t it so important to be ready for when our time comes?! there are so many people here that say they think its true, but that they dont want to do anything about it because they believe, or because they still have time, but who knows?! who really knows if we will wake up in the morning and live another day, or if we will die today!? that is why its so important to be preparing now!! getting ready every single day, repenting, reading our scriptures, and living our lives in a way that prepares us to meet God!! we need to be strong!! we need to be covenant keeping people!! why are we procrastinating the day of our repentance!! we should be trying to improve every day and living as if it is our last day!! treat everyone as if it might be the last time you see them, and love them so much!! love them and see them how Christ sees them, always serve others. My ponderizing scripture this week was Romans 5: 2-5!! you should all look it up and read it cause its great!! and find a new scripture for each week!! I love you all and hope you are all doing awesome!!!
