WOW!! I’m almost a real missionary!! because
I'm finally getting out of our spiritual prison!! They are letting me go! i
know right.. like what are they thinking..? i could use another years worth of
learning Spanish, but they’re sending me anyway and I’m so ready to get
going!!! This week was a bit sketchy
down here, earthquakes, bus drivers being shot for not paying their weekly dues
to the gangs and other stuff like that but for the good part, I’m still alive!!
i guess drug people run the bus system down here so the drivers have to pay
them weekly and one didn’t so a guy on a motorcycle ( my teacher watched it
happen and was telling us, but he has seen it happen before so its not new..)
just shot him.. and yes… this is in my mission area so dang!!! Hopefully i
don’t get shot!! i guess just don’t drive a bus.
We had the area president over Central America
come and talk today and it was soo incredible!! I’m the Hermana music leader so
hermana cox had me put together a musical number for tonight and I’m like so
frozen or what?! no just kidding, but I’m not musically talented so i didn’t
really know what she wanted me to do so i got a bunch of elders ( hermana
Johnson and jones helped me out) and picked brightly beams our father mercy and
they all (like 15 elders ) sang this song a cappella (how do you spell that?)
and it was sooooo incredible!! They only had a day to prepare but they were all
harmonizing and everything and i was blown away!! Then we had a way crazy
spiritual meeting with president Duncan and his wife and they are both so
incredible!! i super loved listening to them and they shared incredible stories
and experiences and it was just so awesome!! i love how much we feel the spirit
and just love being here but i am so ready to leave as well!!
We head out Tuesday morning and I’ve been told
the mission presidents’ wife is coming to pick us up. Also I’m not sure yet but
i don’t think I’ll be able to email next week because we wont have a p-day so I’m
getting a trainer which will be fun!!! The new sisters that are Latino are so
dang awesome and i love talking with them and getting to know them!! It seems
like only yesterday that i couldn’t understand a word they said and now i can mostly
understand what they are saying when they are talking about the gospel but when
we switch topics... i know no words and it’s a struggle!!! i love it so
much though and i love getting letters sooo much so you guys should send me
some if you can!! –emails are great, its just hard with our limited time!!
Guatemala is as great as ever and i super love
the Cox's!! i am going to miss them when we leave because they are the best!! Both
are converts and have the coolest stories!!! President cox is absolutely
hilarious!! We got to go to the temple again today and it was the last time for
6 months so -a little sad, but i loved it!!! The brother that was in charge of
our session was struggling because it was in English and even though it had a
translator, i don’t think he really knew what was going on so i felt a little
bad for him and then i realized that that’s exactly what others think about me,
and i don’t understand a ton of what’s happening …but i try and I guess that is
what’s important!!! so I’m super excited to get to my mission and the next time
you hear from me, i will be a real missionary so watch out!! haha!!!! Hope you
all have a fantastic week and i hope everything is going well!!!
love you all
Hermana
